Jim Main Business Lawyer / Director

Jim Main practices in business law generally with an emphasis on business succession, estate planning and tax. Jim has a Diploma in Law, is an Accredited Business Law Specialist and a Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) with the Tax Institute of Australia.

Jim Main was admitted in 1976 and has extensive experience in the areas of business law and estate planning. In the area of complex tax Jim has provided technical advice to accountants, lawyers and clients around NSW and ACT for many years.

Jim is also well regarded in the areas of family and business succession, restructuring business structures, including transaction taxes and business entity taxes, estate planning including complex wills and testamentary trusts.

Margot Gill Property Lawyer / Director

Margot Gill is a Senior Property Lawyer with expertise in property law, rural conveyancing and agribusiness. Margot has a rural background and has had extensive experience in all areas of property law and offers a thorough conveyancing service.

Margot Gill has many clients who have worked with her for years and include farming businesses, corporate clients, family businesses and private clients across New South Wales. Margot also acts for buyers and sellers of residential and commercial properties and businesses as well lessors and lessees of commercial and farm properties.

Margot Gill leads the conveyancing team is also responsible for the firm's probate practice. Margot has a Diploma in Law.

Amanda Tully Business Lawyer / Director

Amanda Tully is a business lawyer whom acts for clients on a wide range of business succession and other commercial matters. Amanda’s experience includes wills and estate planning, superannuation, an emphasis on establishing and restructuring business structures, business succession, transaction taxes and business entity taxes.

Amanda works closely with Jim and the commercial team in complex commercial matters including issues relating to superannuation, succession, trusts and property. Amanda Tully shares responsibility for the preparation of standard documents. Amanda Tully has a Bachelor of Laws degree and a Bachelor of Arts degree.

John English Business Lawyer / Director

John English is a Business Lawyer with expertise in the areas of business law, agribusiness and property. John is experienced in estate planning, employment law, business law matters and conveyancing. 

John English has a Bachelor of Laws degree, a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice and a Bachelor of Horticultural Science. John's background in agriculture and agribusiness management assists in understanding the needs of his business and agribusiness clients.

Michaela Schmidt Business Lawyer / Director

Michaela Schmidt is a Business Lawyer with expertise in commercial matters matters including issues relating to succession, trusts and property.

Michaela also manages the commercial aspects of probates, estate planning including wills, powers of attorney and guardianship appointments matters for clients. Michaela works closely with Jim on complex tax matters.

Michaela Schmidt has a Bachelor of Law and Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice.

Jo Leggett General Manager / Director

Jo is the General and Financial Manager of JMA Legal. Jo is the first point of contact for new matters and works closely with clients on the financial aspects of their matter.

Madeleine Hunt Business Lawyer

Madeleine is a Business Lawyer who works with the commercial group focusing on wills, power of attorney and guardianship appointments. Madeleine works closely with the senior commercial lawyers on commercial matters.

Madeleine has a Bachelor of Laws and and a Bachelor of Business (majoring in Accounting) from the University of New England and a Diploma in Legal Practice from the College of Law.

Karen Lewin Licensed Conveyancer

Karen Lewin's area of expertise is residential conveyancing and deceased estates. Karen works closely with the property group and focuses on residential and rural sales and purchases within the Gundagai region. Karen also manages probate.

Karen Lewin holds an Unrestricted Conveyancing License following completion of studies from Macquarie University.

Constance Scott Lawyer

Constance joined JMA Legal in our Sydney office in 2016 and graduated with a Bachelor of Criminology and Laws in the same year. Constance works closely with the business and property groups with a focus on wills and estates, power of attorney and guardianship appointments.

Grant Wilcox Lawyer

Grant joined JMA Legal in our Gundagai office in early 2017 and has a Bachelor of Laws and Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice. Grant works closely with the business and property groups with a focus on property, wills, power of attorney and guardianship appointments.

Michele Collingridge Paralegal

Michele focuses on residential conveyancing in Cootamundra and surrounding areas. Michele is currently studying Bachelor of Laws at Charles Sturt University Bathurst.
